Practice Focus and Experience
Ed Gaines is a trial lawyer who is certified by the State of Arizona as a legal specialist in the area of personal injury and wrongful death. He has been a member of the firm since 1981. His primary emphasis over the last two decades has been handling professional liability, products liability, and personal injury cases involving catastrophic injury. He has taken well over 60 cases to trial before juries. He represents a number of insurers in bad-faith litigation and coverage issues. Additionally, Mr. Gaines has represented healthcare providers, including medical doctors, osteopathic physicians, chiropractic physicians, dentists, physical therapists, and nurses before Arizona State Regulatory agencies on matters concerning licensure and discipline. He regularly participates as a speaker at seminars involving his primary areas of practice, as well as risk management to healthcare providers. He is frequently asked to speak on issues of legal ethics, legal malpractice and professionalism by the State Bar and other organizations. He has also been a contributing author to many handbooks and manuals associated with his speaking engagements. Mr. Gaines also serves as a judge pro tem in Pima County Superior Court as needed.
