US Senate Passes the Employment Non-Discrimination Act

By a vote of 64 to 32, the Senate passed the Employment Non-Discrimiantion Act (ENDA) today. The law would prohibit discrimination in employment on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity. Arizona Senators John McCain and Jeff Flake lent their support to the bill . The ENDA still must pass the House before becoming law. If enacted, the EDNA will extend many of Title VII’s employment anti-discrimination protections to gay and transgendered persons.
